The Dingo
tannery was founded in 1977 through the initiative of
a group of partners with experience in the sector dating
back to the 1960s, so our company's history makes it one
of the oldest firms in the Tuscan "Leather District"
specializing in vegetable tannage. The current owners
have been working in the tanning field for their entire
careers, and their technical expertise has allowed the
company to specialize in the production of high-quality
leather, always keeping up with the latest demands of
the market and fashion world.
We acquire the finest raw skins from French cattle hides
of various sizes, creating finished leathers such as shoulders,
d/butts, bellies, half calfskins, half buffalo skins,
and fronts, in all thicknesses from 0.9 mm up to 4.0 mm.
We are specialize in vegetable tannage, using natural
tannins and organically compatible products for both drum
dyeing and finishing.
Our leather is used in many different product sectors,
but above all for the production of bags, wallets, belts,
chairs and furnishings, and military and hunting articles.
It is also employed for orthopedic products, photo albums,
and saddlery. |

The raw hides that we acquire are inspected at the
time of pickup and then selected to be turned into different
articles. We primarily produce shoulders, d/butts, bellies,
half calfskins, half buffalo skins, and fronts, vegetable
tanned, drum dyed, or natural, aniline or pigment finished,
gloss or matte, printed or silk screened, hand finished,
etc. From the very start, we have been following ancient
traditions to produce the classic Tuscan Vacchetta Ingrassata
(full-grain vegetable-tanned oiled kip skin, natural
or dyed) that is so famous around the world.
Regarding leather for the production of belts and seating
panels, we make sure that the original skins we acquire
are well-squared for optimal cutting by the client.
Regarding finished hides for bags, cases, and other
leather goods, we always choose the very finest sources,
creating top-of-the-line products for renowned international
designers.
We export approximately 50% of our products to Europe
and Asia, while the Italian market absorbs the remaining
50%. We always have a sufficient stock of raw materials
on hand to deliver orders in a timespan ranging from
two weeks up to a maximum of four weeks for articles
that require longer processing.
